CCHS Vision Statement
Please note: We
are asking for your input on the reverse side of this page. Please complete the brief survey and return
it to the office. Your input is
important to us as we continue to create a program that will meet your needs as
parents.
We are living in a world at war. I am not talking about the War on Terror or the growing threat in North Korea. The war I am referring to is the war that began when Lucifer rose up against God and was cast out of heaven. It is the war that has raged ever since and has involved every person ever born whether they realize it or not. It is a war being fought over the very souls of men and women across the globe. It is a war that is fought not with worldly weapons but in the spiritual realm. This war will continue to be fought until that glorious day when our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, returns for His bride. Our high school program is being developed to prepare our graduates for the realities of this war.
The tactics of our enemy are cleaver but not undetectable to those trained to identify his schemes. Colossians 2:8 provides some insight into one of the enemy’s most successful weapons. “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.”
It is important to note that this was written to Christians and therefore implies that it is possible for us to be taken captive by philosophies of this world. We are taken captive when we accept the lies that Satan and the world present in place of God’s Word. It is the same tactic Satan used in the Garden with Eve. He contradicted God’s spoken truth with a lie and Adam and Eve both bought it, bringing sin to us all. Jesus calls Satan the father of lies and he is exactly that. For every truth claim that God makes, Satan is sure to present alternative claims based on lies. These claims have the power to take us captive and are very appealing and often have slivers of truth intermingled with the lie.
What is the solution? What can set the captives free? John 8:32 tells us that we can know the truth and the truth will set us free. Jesus tells us in John 14:6 that He is the Truth. In fact, Jesus says that He was born and came into the world to testify to the truth (John 18:37). The subject of truth is extremely important to Jesus and should be to us. The Truth will set us free and enables us to set others free. Community Christian High School is dedicated to teach the truth in every subject and equip our graduates with this powerful weapon.
If you have been reading the “CCS Patriot”
you should have a fairly good idea of what our high school program is designed
to do and what it was created for. We
are committed to restoring the American Christian home and nation by equipping
strong disciples of Jesus Christ with a Biblical worldview. This will be done by laying Christ as the
foundation for all learning and building a framework of truth in every
subject. Our students will know the
reality of the world they live in and be well equipped to engage in the battle
and advance the Kingdom of God. This is
our fight. This is what God has called us
to do.
I am anxious to see other families join us in this preparation time that we call high school. The world has sold us a lie that the high school years are about fun and living on the edge and living for me. We at CCS believe the high school years are critical years in the preparation of young Christian soldiers. Our students will learn that discovering their God given purpose by submitting to Him and His plan for them is truly living life on the edge and is the most fulfilling life of all. What is done during these four years will play a huge role in determining what becomes of these young people. Rigorous training produces strong character and effective soldiers. Slack training produces weak soldiers that will either fall quickly in battle or never truly engage in it. The time has come for God’s people to be trained to effectively engage in the culture and set the captives free and not be taken captive by it.
Given this brief summary of the purpose of our high school program, we would like to get some feedback from you. We would appreciate your honest response to the following questions. Your responses will help us to identify the issues that are most important to you and help us serve you better. Please complete this survey regardless of your opinion of the high school. We value each of the families we serve and would like to hear from you.
